Melissa is partner and Director of Marketing of Sable Books, a design and consulting companies who help writers publish their work. She is also founder of Women Writers of the Triad, a supportive and educational group for NC writers. Since 2014, she proudly accepted the role as an advisor for Writing for Peace, and in addition serves as publicity chair for the North Carolina Poetry Council.
Her poem, At the End, published by the online art and poetry journal, One, from Jacar Press, received an Honorable Mention in the 2014 Randall Jarrell Poetry Competition from the NC Writers Network. Her work has appeared in Vox Poetica, Iodine Poetry Journal, When Women Waken, Writing for Peace, and other publications, and she has written features, articles, and blog posts for Triad Living Magazine, The Rude Pundit, and the People’s Tribune.
She currently resides in Greensboro, NC.
