So much wonderful for April and National Poetry Month from Beth Sheffield, the Greensboro Public Library and Poetry GSO:

Poetry GSO 2013 Featured Events and Programs

Monday, April 1 at 7 pm at the Central Library

Silly Poems at Monday Night Poetry kicks off the National Poetry Month celebration.

Saturday, April 13 at 1 pm at the Central Library

High School Poet Laureates Program  — Hear the students who were selected as their school’s poet laureate read their winning poems.

Monday, April 29 at 7 pm at the Central Library

NC Poet Laureate Joseph Bathanti reads at our Monday Night poetry event. A reception and book signing follows.

LifeVerse Poetry Project Training

LifeVerse is looking for volunteers who would like to be trained to take poetry programs to nursing homes and assisted living facilities. Prospective volunteers should e-mail Steve Sumerford or call 336-373-3636. The training sessions for LifeVerse are from 1-4 pm April 8 and from 10 am to 2 pm April 20.

Monday Night Poetry

Come to the Central Library on the third Monday night of each month for themed open-mic events and occasional special guests.
